The Newfoundland Club of America is very interested in the health and welfare of the Newfs.  The NCA Health Challenge is a non profit tax deducible trust run by the NCA which funds various scientific research into Newfoundland health problems.  The NCA also publishes a significant amount of information on health problems in the form of a notebook. Some of the articles are  reproduced on this web site.  Information on the types of open registries and how the NCA encourages their use is set forth in several articles.  Also complete OFA information on all the Newfs they have certified is available for reading or download into your own database. The Newfoundland Rescue Network deals with helping people who want to adopt Newfoundlands that for various reasons are being placed in new homes.
